Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common written test for the admission processes of Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University [SIU] established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India.

It is a mandatory written test for admission into any Post-Graduate programme offered by these Institutes. However, it is only the first step. In addition, a candidate has to undergo the selection process of the desired Institute to qualify for the admission to the Post-Graduate programmes of that Institute.

A student aspiring to do higher studies at SIU is advised to note all the dates published in the first page of this bulletin for all references and needs to do the following:

SNAP Test 2008 Eligibility: A graduate from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level.

• Paste candidate's photograph on the Admit Card.
• It is mandatory for all candidates to bring the Admit card on which photograph is pasted along with a photo identity to the Test Centre and get the same authenticated from the authorized officials of Symbiosis Test Secretariat.
• Please note that there is no provision for printing the Admit card at the Test Centre.
• Candidates shall preserve the Admit card till the further selection process of the desired institute such as Group Discussion and Personal Interview, is over. Candidate should note that he will not be allowed to appear for group Discussion and personal interview without Admit card.
• If the Admit card is lost, then please note that no request for reissue of Admit card will be entertained and the candidate will lose the chance to appear for further selection process of the desired institute such as Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
• Appear for the Test.
• SNAP Score will remain valid for admission to all Post Graduate Programmes of Symbiosis International University by different Institutes for the academic year 2009-2010.

Stage-2: Submit Application form to the desired constituent institutes of SIU.

• Purchase a prospectus & application form as per chosen institute's instructions given on its website or prospectus.
• The SNAP website allows a facility for online purchase of prospectus & application form for many of these institutes along with online payment of SNAP fee. Online sale of prospectus will continue up to January 9th 2009 even after the closure of SNAP payment.
• Complete the application procedure of the desired institute.
• You can apply to more than one institute.

Stage-3: Attend the call for further selection process of the chosen institutes.

• Each institute has its own method for arriving at a cutoff, depending on its focused field as mentioned in the prospectus of each constituent institute. For example, one Institute may have lower importance for Quantitative Section while some other Institute may have a higher importance for the same section.
• The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process.
• The individual institutes as per their schedules will announce admission results.
• For details of selection process and schedules please refer to the prospectus of respective institutes or contact the Institutes directly.

Important:

• Mere scoring in the SNAP Test does not entitle any right to the candidate to be called for further selection process [i.e. group discussion, personal interview] of admission to any Symbiosis Institute.
• While adequate care is taken in ensuring that there are no mistakes in reading the answer sheet by the scanning machine, there is no provision of revaluation of the answer sheet of any candidate.
• The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.
• The SNAP Score card will be available on the website for a period of one month from the date of declaration of results. A candidate may take a print-out of the result.
• Those candidates paying through cash or DD, should ensure that the following should reach Symbiosis Test Secretariat by the closing date of Payment.
1. Axis Bank Challan for cash payment should be printed online, or
2. Demand Drafts and Payment Advice Form for DD payment;
3. Demand draft for Rs. 1000/- may be drawn from any nationalised bank and should be in favour of "Symbiosis Test Secretariat".
• Symbiosis Test Secretariat will not be held responsible for non-delivery or any delay on the part of Courier / Postal Services.
